Broadly speaking, there are two major approaches to psychotherapy; those that are interested in the inner world of the client (psychodynamic) and those interested in the study of the client from the outside (behavioural psychotherapy). Research has repeatedly shown that it is the relationship between the client and the therapist that is most effective in bringing about change and not the approach used.
Psychotherapy can help us with all varying degrees of difficulties and needs, from symptom relief to personality change. Psychotherapy is hence suitable for us all.
